A professional actor in his own right, Thabo Malema holds a BA Honors Degree in Live Performance from the South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance (AFDA).
His career in the industry commenced from the year 2006 to date. His work includes both international and domestic productions. As both an on-screen and theatre actor, Thabo Malema is a very vibrant and versatile artist, whose track record speaks for itself.
His local work includes films such as White Lion (starring Dr John Kani, Jamie Bartlet) and Skyf. He has featured in Television productions such as The Lab and Room 9. He has also shot commercials namely Love life, Bioplus, Lotto, Yogi Sip, Coca-Cola, McDonalds, Top TV and Vodacom.
He also plays the lead role of Khaya in the hilarious sitcom Single Guys on SABC 1.
His international movies include Primeval Kill (starring Dominic Purcell), 10 000 BC (directed by Roland Emmerich), A Million Colors (directed by Peter Bishai). He has also acted in drama series called The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency (starring Jill Scott) and Strike Back Season III (a British Production).
Thabo’s theatre work comprises of the following productions; Woza Albert (directed by Sphamandla Kunene), Umuzi ka Vusi (directed by Sizwe Chiliza), All Ballz (directed by Thomas Gumede). He travelled to West Africa (Uganda and Niger) in late 2010, working on the Airtel (a cellphone network) industrial theatre launch. His voice work includes TV License ads for SABC.
Thabo’s philosophy of ‘no limits to achievements’ is evident in his studying for his second qualification, a BA Degree in Communication Sciences, with the University of South Africa (UNISA). He also has a passion for languages; he speaks Basic French and minimal Swahili as well.
